Steer and accelerate the ship relative to the camera.

Fire a broadside volley from both sides.

Close open panels or clear selections.

Mouse / touch

Select ships, ports, and panels. Use the wheel or trackpad to zoom. On touch screens, use the joystick to sail.

Voyage Mechanics

• Get quests from port cities to gain gold and experience.
• Sail into harbor range to dock. Ports can repair your ship, buy fleet ships, load goods, sell goods, and offer portage when available.
• Carry cargo for trade and quests.
• Open the quest log from the top-right button and follow the compass in the top left for active objectives.
• Collect flotsam crates by sailing over them for gold.
• Spend earned skill points in the skill tree to unlock ship, trade, combat, and exploration perks.

Combat And Survival

• Trade ships are neutral merchant traffic. They carry cargo and can be attacked by pirates (or you, if you fancy).
• Pirate ships use black sails and hunt valuable targets, including trade ships and you. Saving merchants can pay out rewards.
• Broadside shots fire at fixed side angles, so turn your hull to aim instead of waiting for target lock.
• Watch hull health and crew morale. Morale recovers automatically at port.
• Storms, wind, waves, coasts, and open ocean conditions affect travel.
